Having grown up in the Middle East, he understands the region, including the cultural norms within Muslim societies. His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University with postdoctoral work at the University of Chicago. For the past decade he has conducted research and taught at the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver – considered one of the ten best schools of International Studies in the world.

Dr. Shaul Gabbay provides service as an expert witness in the following manner:

Step One:

To begin, Dr. Shaul Gabbay will conduct an initial in-depth phone consultation with you and/or your attorney to discuss your specific case. From this phone conversation, he will determine if his expertise is appropriate for your case.

Step Two:

Based on the verbal and written information supplied by you and your attorney, he will conduct research and prepare a written analysis of your case, which will be sent to you prior to the hearing date.

This report may contain:

1. A historical overview of your country.
2. Current political, religious, and social aspects of cultural and legal realities in your country of origin.
3. Relevant research with documented sources.
4. Dr. Shaul Gabbay’s professional opinion regarding the conditions and repercussions you will likely face if you return to your country.

Step Three:

He will conduct a second phone consultation with you and/or your attorney to jointly review the written report in preparation for your court hearing or trial.

Step Four:

He will provide testimony as an Expert Witness at your court hearing or trial.
